RESISTANCE

War, Our Way of Life

Justified... They Proclaim

Stupefied... We All

Nodding even to the paradoxical

As bullets fly to kill

And bombs fall to maim

Cutting apart Our Children

As We watch from the couch

We aren't to blame

We rush to declare

Whilst rallying around

Everyone to take sides

Right versus Wrong

There the Villains

Our fingers pointed elsewhere

Yet, The Mirror reveals all

Somehow

This Madness of Ours

Must Cease

For This, I speak out

I cannot just acquiesce

Content to sit and watch

As each and every day

Death and violence increases

On and on and on

To Not

Claim in Counterclaim

To Never

Justify and Excuse

No To

Death and Hatred

This is To Resist

For We are One

A single Human Family

Brothers and Sisters

Each and All

And We must start again

Through Learning once more

The Art of Cultivating

Acts which Grow Peace

Bestowing to one another

The Miracle of Reconciliation

By Dealing first with Ourselves

Acting in Faith

To Transform Anger, Fear and Despair

Into Love, Hope and Peace
