Upon The Precipice

Humanity now stands teetering upon the precipice... Our Future before Us... Above the Vista, Below the Abyss.

This Precipice is Change... Our World has entered the age-old Cycle of Rebirth... It is Here in Our own Time and before Our very Eyes... And, It is Happening whether We recognise, agree or Understand.

And as The Wheel turns... The Old is breaking apart and falling away... It is raw and intense... And, the Choices before Us are stark... Regression leading to Destruction and possible annihilation... OR... Renewal and Creation of a Better World.

At this Time, Courage, Strength, Hope and Faith are what We have to hold and to help Us... These the Best Virtues of Humanity... Which have always aided Us in times of great Darkness and encompassing Change.

We must not forget or forsake These. For it is Our Remembrance of These that will enable Us to halt Our Steps, and To Consider and To Decide... Instead, of just stepping forward under the full weight of Horror and Despair.

And, in Reflection last night about possible Answers and potential Solutions, I was reminded of what I learned from the corporate world as a Lawyer.

Multinational Businesses who find themselves in similar straits, where as a result of both their successes and failures, have become large, unwieldy, inefficient and directionless... Developed effective strategies to deal with This... They immediately Restructure, involving a Reordering of Management and a Divestment of everything non-core.

And, I suggest that This Strategy can be applied to Human Society today in order to immediately begin addressing Our Problems.

In such way, We can return to and reinforce Our Foundations... The Cornerstones of Human Society... Faith, Family and Community.

But, We must not do so regressively or nostalgically, seeking an impossible return to Days of The Past.

Instead, We must engage in an active Process of Renewal... Defining again what Faith, Family and Community mean in and for Our Time and Place.

This will require Us to willingly and purposefully examine Ourselves in A Mirror... Stripping away all accumulated illusions and falsehoods.... Embarking again on The Humanist Endeavour... To continue building A Human Society that more accurately reflects Our deeper Understandings of Ourselves and of the intrinsic Connectivity and essential Unity of That Which Is.
